R.M. THORNTON OFFERS LINE OF SERVICE TO HELP BUILDINGS LOWER OPERATING COSTS
R.M. Thornton offers a line of service to save building owners and managers energy operating costs. With BuildingAdvice technology, Thornton can survey your building, provide detailed building energy assessments and estimate the financial impact of improvements.
Energy costs are the single largest controllable cost in most commercial buildings. Nationally, electric rates have increased over 20% over the past 3 years. Utilities, including electricity, now represent on average 40-60% of a building's total operating costs. Energy costs represent a significant problem for commercial buildings.
R.M. Thornton and BuildingAdvice technology can identify energy savings opportunities and save you money. To learn more, please contact: John Godbold, 301-785-3547,
Additionally, R.M. Thornton follows the theory that "to manage something you need to measure it". The same holds true for utility bills/energy costs. When we do an energy assessment which involves placement of logging sensors, we can tell if night setback controls are being utilized, thermostat settings are accurate, occupancy schedules are being followed, lights are being turned off at night, and whether or not the building is over ventilated. All these things are simple and inexpensive to change and improve. We can log and plot on a time graph, motor amperages (ex: boiler burner run times), CO2 (ventilation levels), humidity, and temperature, as well as analyse thermal images.
