HVAC Service & Maintenance | Backflow Preventer Testing
The Washington Suburban Sanitary Commission (WSSC), along with the District of Columbia, and Virginia requires that all backflow prevention assemblies in your water system be tested annually.
The WSSC Cross Connection Control Program is authorized to monitor, inspect, investigate and survey all known and potential cross connection to the public water supply system on both public and private property. It is the responsibility of the property owner to maintain all backflow preventers by having assemblies tested annually and devices rebuilt or replaced every 5 years. All test reports shall be submitted to the Cross Connection Control office by the assembly’s annual test date. R.M. Thornton, Inc., has certified technicians who can test your backflow preventer and make necessary repairs or replacement. We will handle the submission of the report and notify you when the next inspection is required in 12 months.
